About this activity

Meet your guide in the morning in Cannes port of cruise terminal. Board your private vehicle and go to your first destination: Monaco. Visit this beautiful old town built on a rock, full of history. Admire the castle where the prince of Monaco and his family live or the Oceanographic Museum where Jacques-Yves Cousteau used to work. Go to Monte Carlo where your guide will drive you on one of the most famous Formula1 race tracks and why not trying your luck at the renowned Casino of Monaco. Have a break at the Café de Paris, where you can sit down and enjoy beautiful cars.

After Monaco, your guide will take you to the charming village of Menton, known as the capital of citrus fruits. Every year is held the annual carnival of citrus fruits. A must is to try the amazing lemon cake. Admire the houses climbing up the mountain full of colors. Visit a place where they produce marmalade and a lovely citrus liqueur.

At the end of the tour, your guide will drive you back to Cannes.

This tour felt like more of an experiment. We were a family of 7 and started with Cannes, our Guide Sugar spoke with thick accent and was difficult to understand. We only understood half of what he said as he spoke very fast. We didn't really see anything in Cannes except where film festival would be and lots of detail information on every street , hotel and village we passed. Sometimes we were lost in what he was saying and he would snap his fingers and say for us to look here or there. We passed some beautiful sights for pictures , which he pointed out and we asked to stop, most he drove by.. and said there would be others. Next we were in Menton... we spent about 30 mins here.. a few shops and a market. Our guide told us we were the boss and he was here to serve us, but when we asked what we wanted to do..her persisted in what he thought best if he didn't like our decision. Monaco was the nicest stop...But only about 15 mins at the Casino and no time for coffe at Cafe de Paris as in description...on to Princes's Palace. This is where we shopped nearby and got lunch..stayed about 1 1/2 hrs. After concluding in enough time to make last tender back to cruise ship, we were ready to head back. Again, our guide wanted to show us other sites...We were firm and said no. Last Tender leaves dock for ship on NCL Epic at 5pm, heading straight back... we walked on Tender at 445pm. Too close for our comfort and added extra stress to the day. Our guide Sugar was passionate about his heritage, but lacked people skills. Of the tours we took on our 7 day Mediterranean Cruise, this was the worse. Overall disappointing...guide makes or breaks tour
