About this activity
First, head to Monaco and Monte Carlo. Magnificent palaces, casinos, luxury shops, and exotic gardens are waiting for you. The guide will tell you the fascinating story of a sovereign state between Nice and the Italian border, that perfectly captures the essence of the Côte d'Azur with its palaces in the rococo style, lunch gardens, world famous casinos and glamour of the royal family. By car, you will drive along the famous Formula 1 track. You will visit the Monte Carlo casino and can enjoy an optional walk around the Japanese Garden. There will also be some free time during which you can see the changing of the guard in front of the palace of the Prince, take pictures or buy souvenirs.

Next, head to Eze. Take a stroll through the old town with your guide. This old village is huddled around a substantial medieval fortress, with rocks and houses of similar hues blending into each other.

Afterwards, your guide will take you to the Fragonard perfume factory near the town of Eze. It offers you the opportunity to learn all the stages of perfume production. Your guide will take you for a tour of the factory. Make sure you peruse the factory shop, where you can treat yourself to a wonderful new perfume (own expense).

Driving through Nice your guide take you to Saint-Paul-de Vance. In Nice you will drive across the Promenade des Anglais, this wide promenade, facing south and flanking the sea along its entire length, provides wonderful views of the Baie des Anges and a popular place for a lengthy stroll. The guide will show you the famous architectural buildings located on the Promenade des Anglais. 45 min stop in Saint-Paul-de Vance. This old village visible from afar among the pleasant hills and valleys of the Vence landscape. St-Paul-de-Vence has retained its medieval appearance, so characteristic of the fortified settlements which protected the Var frontier until 1870. Take a stroll through the old town with your guide. You will have free time to visit the famous Modern art galleries. This city will remind you of medieval times, and the guide will tell amazing stories about it.

Your guide will then take you to Cannes. By car, you will drive along the world-famous Boulevard de la Croisette. The guide will tell you the fascinating story of Cannes and the Lérins islands which are located offshore. Since 1834 a whole host of famous personalities have helped to establish the city's reputation. In the past the aristocracy would spend the winter here. Nowadays celebrities flock here during the film festival, which is one of the most important events in the cinema world. There will also be some free time during which you can see the Film Festival Palace and take pictures on the famous red road.

The tour finishes as your guide drops you off at port of call.

So I spent a week in Europe and had three guided tours. This was by far the best tour. I have booked on Viator numerous times but do read reviews and was a little nervous there were none for this excursion. Doing my research I found out this was run by "Sophie Tour" and they did have good reviews. Anyway we met Daniel our guide and driver. Be aware there is a difference. A driver basically drives you place to place with some info while driving. They drop you in an area and then your on your own. One guide had us walk to where he was instead of driving to the 10 of us in 100 degree weather even after we called him and said we were lost. Daniel walked with us basically everywhere and answered every question we had, even the silly questions the kids had. He was great with the boys and it probably helped him having his own child. Anyway we went to the most beautiful of places and my only regret was not listening to him about Eze. I wanted to go and was almost a brat about it, how disappointing. One of our more elder family members could not do the walk, even the young ones were breathing hard. The stores were snobby and high priced but we did find a gelato place that also served Beer and Lemonade...I know I know but try it, so good! Daniel introduced us to that drink as well, its known in US as a Shandy, its my new drink and all I drank during the cruise..lol. We went to Nice, Eze, Monte Carlo, Monaco and all the little places in between. The ride to each place was filled with amazing views and landscapes. Monaco was my favorite with its beautiful buildings, gardens, shore line and of course its roads that look like diamonds. If I did it again I would go to the Monaco Oceanographic Aquarium/Museum and skip Eze all together. One of our teens only request the entire day was to get an authentic Macaron and Daniel said we could make it happen. He actually parked and ran into a couple places before he found a proper bakery. I wondered if he was an owner due to how professional and dedicated he was with us. Daniel also had the timing down pat to get us back to the cruise on time. There was 8 of us on this excursion an we all fit comfortably in the van. I sat in the front seat due to being the one who takes a million pictures. So Im not sure if this will be the first Viator review for this excursion and company but dont look by this excursion because of lack of reviews here. Thank you Sophie Tour and Daniel, best Tour in France!

Definitely, this is highly recommended! Saw five places in so short time! This excursion will require some walking up and down the strairs in Eze and Saint-Paul-de-Vence, but these two shouldn't be missed!

Our tour guide Paul did a splendid job driving us around in this beautiful area. The views were breathtaking all the way. We drove through the city of Cannes and stopped at the Provecal market for fresh fruit, sinful macaroons and a lot more. Next we drove past the Nice and took in the panoramic views of the sea and arrived in the village of Exe perched on top of a hill. The views were spellbinding. Got a glimpse of the homes of Sir Elton John and 007 Sean Connery. Next stop the Fragonard parfum factory for some unique sights and smells. After shopping some fragrances, we ate some Crepes at a local restaurant and then drove to Monaco and Mote Carlo to view the casinos and expensive cars. Then it was a race to the cruise ship......dumb traffic jam slowed us down and were betting if we would make it or not....it was a bit tense. Though we arrived 15 minutes late, everything was just fine. Our tour guide Paul heaved a big sigh of relief and we all gave him a warm hug. Unforgettable memories packed in a day:- We would like to return back some day to spend a few days of quality time in Nice. Tracy, Sunny, Audrey and Danny It's all well that end's well.
