Very witty tour guide (Rico) and supportive team. Injects colonial history with a lot of trivia on the side.

As we were determined to see both The Cape of Good Hope and penguins on Boulder's Beach but didn't want to drive, we found this tour the most sensible and budget-friendly option. What we particularly enjoyed was that even though it was an organised tour, you can still enjoy the freedom to do a bit of your thing as you're given some spare time to spend both at the Cape Point Nature Reserve and at Boulder's Beach. Although we consider ourselves seasoned hikers, for anyone who wants to get a little taste of what hiking in South Africa is like, the walk between Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope serves well for that purpose as it is a good mix between just strolling along on the boardwalk and scrambling over rocks on the way up the hill. Our tour guide Brahm definitely deserves a shout-out: throughout the journey he was sharing lots of information not only about the tour's destinations but also about South African history, geology, language and cuisine. Certainly a fantastic tour guide!

I expected this to be a small group tour, but it actually was a group of around 60 people going to the Cape of Good Point and Boulders Beach. Tour guides did a good job of wrangling the group and making sure we stuck to schedule. I really enjoyed the guided hike down to the point with the group. If you plan to do the hike, and not ride the bus down, WEAR APPROPRIATE SHOES! There were several in the group in sandals, and it made me very nervous from a safety standpoint. The AC on the bus was very intermittent, seeming to turn on and off at random the whole time. I was very hot and uncomfortable on the hour+ ride home.

This tour covers a lot of ground in the time, which is great if your schedule is limited. You do need to be prepared to just go with the flow as you will be one of many on the bus. Seating was comfortable, and the team was clearly experienced at organising bus loads around the main attractions. The guide kept up a running commentary with lots of useful information along the way. It was very busy at both main stops. Watch out for the birds at Cape Point. If you're eating outside they will literally swoop down and snatch food from your fingers. I recommend eating indoors, or on the bus. The penguins were fabulous, it's worth competing with the crowds to see them.
