The Cape Town City tour will commence with a pick up from your hotel within the Cape Town City Bowl. The city tour will proceed to the former Cape Malay Quarter known to many as Bo-Kaap, a sight of colorful buildings resembling the Cape Malay culture.
The tour will continue to the Company Gardens, a park bordered on its edges and corners by attractions such as the South African Art Gallery, the Jewish Museum, the Planetarium and the Garden Restaurant. The Company Gardens was created by the first European settlers and today the Company Gardens boasts the oldest cultivated pear tree in South Africa and rose garden dating back to the 1929. Statues of significant historical figures can be seen within in the Company Gardens as well as a place of where visitors can interact and feed the squirrels.
As the trip to the Company Gardens concludes we will pass through the green market square as we make our way to the Grand Parade, an open space used for events and also serves as an open market. The Grand Parade is famous for being the place where people assembled to listen to the iconic Nelson Mandela’s first speech when he came out of prison.The tour will further continue to the oldest building in Cape Town, the Castle of Good Hope. The Castle of Good Hope is a provincial heritage site worth visiting.
We will depart from the Castle for a visit to Table Mountain. The Table Mountain cableway offers visitors a ride of a lifetime, with a carrying capacity of 65 people per trip the cableway can transport up to 800 passengers up and down the mountain in an hour.
