Half Day
About this activity
This tour departs twice daily (8:30am and 1:30pm) from your centrally located downtown Cape Town, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront or Atlantic Seaboard (Mouille Point, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Camps Bay) hotel accommodation. From there, you'll head off in a minivan via the N2 to the heart of South Africa's wine industry.
In Stellenbosch, your guide will lead you down canal-lined avenues shaded by giant oak trees and past beautifully preserved historic buildings. You'll enjoy the first of two wine tastings at the Waterford Estate, a sprawling 120-hectare property growing wine grapes, lavender, and citrus fruits.
From there, you'll travel over the mountainous Helshoogte Pass to the town of Franschhoek, dating to the arrival of French Huguenots in the 17th century. Billed as the "Gourmet Capital of South Africa," this charming town, in a picturesque valley, retains a French Huguenot style. Enjoy one final wine tasting here before returning to your accommodation in Cape Town.
The tour lasts about five hours and the legal drinking age in South Africa is 18. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult, and there is a minimum of two people per booking required. Winery entrance and tasting fees are included, but no other food and drink is provided.
