Wild Coast Xplorer

Check-in and meet for pre-departure briefing. Our accommodation will be on the slopes of Table Mountain with the convenience of the City center nearby. This is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted and stock up on last minute necessities. 5 am departure into the Semi Desert area known as the Klein Karoo. Lunch is in the Ostrich Capital of the world, Oudsthoorn. After lunch we head to the Cango Caves followed by a visit to an Ostrich farm. We continue our Journey in the Klein Karoo as we head towards Addo Elephant Park. It is the 3rd largest of our National Parks and is home to the BIG5. Here we'll have an option of a Game drive in our vehicle or guests can book a drive with the park(subject to availability). After the Safari we journey towards the Coastal town of Port Alfred. This is our stop for the night as we prepare for the adventures of the Wild Coast. Our departures are a little later from now on :) We depart at 9am and head into the former Transkei Republic. Our destination is the little village of Lubanzi. Rolling Hills and deserted beaches are what we can expect for the next few days. Arrive and relax, enjoy a wine tasting,head to the beach or simply do nothing as you listen to the sounds of the Wild Coast in the background. The day starts with fresh homemade bread and unspoiled views. there is an option for a 2hour hike to one of the many river mouths in the area. We're on the Indian Ocean so water temperatures are as warm as 20 degrees Celsius. otherwise take a stroll in the village at your leisure. Its quite easy to get stuck at Lubanzi but we must keep exploring. This day has an option for one of the best Hikes in the country. it is a total hike of approximately 5 hours through the rolling hills and jagged cliff edges of the Wild Coast. It takes us past the famous Hole in the Wall. The destination for the day is the backpackers paradise of Coffee Bay at the famed Coffee Shack Backpackers. In the village of Rhini. We are taught how to make Xhosa bread, learn about Xhosa culture, traditional dancing and a language lesson, thats if you can manage with all the clicks! Its a fun village homestay that gives us insight to the local culture and its people. The final stop in the Wild Coast is Chintsa. Buccaneers Backpackers is also famous for its volley ball and free wine. Day 11 allows us to explore Chintsa at our own pace. Free canoeing, beach walk, brewery tour or quad biking tours. Quite a lot on offer for a small town.We get a chance to walk in his footsteps and enjoy lunch in is village. After taking in the history and learning about Madiba, we drive 2 hours to our destination. Next stop is the surf Capital of South Africa and one of the stops on the World Surf League. Jeffrey's Bay offers the chance to do some really cheap shopping at one of their outlet stores. We'll be staying at Island Vibe Backpackers. A stone's throw from the beach. Head out on their waterfall tour, horse riding on the beach or take a surf lesson.
