Stop At: Babylonstoren, R45 Road between Paarl and Franscchoek between Paarl and Franschhoek, Paarl 7670 South Africa

We start our day by visiting the beautiful gardens of Babylonstoren, designed by French architect Patrice Taravella. The gardens comprises of 15 clusters spanning vegetable areas, stone and pome fruit, nuts, citrus, berries, bees, herbs, and more. Every one of the more than 300 varieties of plants is edible or has medicinal value. We join one of the experienced gardeners on a guided tour where guests will be encouraged to pick, taste, smell and touch while walking through the garden. We have time for a quick cup of coffee or tea and a visit to the Farm Shop before we leave for Stellenbosch.

Stop At: Kanonkop Wine Estate, Stellenbosch South Africa

Kanonkop Wine Estate is situated on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain and here we will enjoy sampling some of South Africa's premium wines.

We drive through the historical town of Stellenbosch named after the governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel in 1679. It is the second oldest European settlement after Cape Town. During the orientation drive various interesting places will be pointed out.

Stop At: La Motte Wine Estate, R45 Main Street, Franschhoek 7690 South Africa

We leave Stellenbosch and drive via the scenic Helshoogte Pass, through the settlement of Pniel that was established in 1843 after the emancipation of slaves. We visit the La Motte wine estate , one of the three wine estates owned by the Rupert family. The Rupert's are in partnership with the De Rothschild family of France, producing award-winning wine. Here we will have the opportunity to sample these wines and visit the La Motte Museum.

Stop At: The Huguenot Memorial Monument, Franschhoek South Africa

We drive through the town of Franschoek named after the French Huguenots that were granted land after fleeing their homeland when Protestantism was outlawed in France during 1685. Today the town is known for its beautiful wine valleys and as the food and wine capital of South Africa. We visit some of the monuments, galleries, interesting shops and enjoy an optional lunch in one of the many restaurants.

Stop At: Fairview Wine and Cheese, Suid Agter Paarl Road, Suider Paarl, Paarl 7624 South Africa

Our last stop and wine tasting of the day is at the Fairview Wine estate in Paarl. Experience the world-renowned tasting room consisting of four unique barrel-shaped pods. The tasting includes an expertly paired selection of Fairview cow and goat's milk cheeses.
