Day 2: Brecon Mountain Railway

Embark today on the Brecon Mountain Railway - a narrow gauge train that runs through the Brecon Beacons and along the length of the Pontsticill Reservoir. Enjoy beautiful walks around the waterfalls here before spending the rest of the day exploring the National Park.

Day 3: Bala Lake Railway

Stop At: Bala Lake Railway, Station Rd, Llanuwchllyn, Bala LL23 7DD, UK
Leave behind the Brecon Beacons as you travel up to North Wales.

Visit the town of Bala along your way, here you will journey on the Bala Lake Railway. Offering astounding views of Llyn Tegid, the surrounding countryside, don't forget to keep an eye out for the wildlife nestling alongside this line!

Day 4: Ffestiniog Railway

Visit the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog in the very heart of Snowdonia this morning. This town is bursting with history and you can explore this and more at the Llechwedd Slate Caverns with an underground tour (not included).

Your train for today is the Ffestiniog Railway which takes a much gentler pace through this beautiful area of Wales.

Day 5: Snowdon Mountain Railway

Travel south on your journey today, discovering the magical mid-Wales. But, before you leave you will climb onto the Snowdon Mountain Railway which will take you to the peak of the highest mountain in England and Wales - Snowdon. Of course, the views are phenomenal from here - you won't want to come down!

Day 6: Vale of Rheidol Railway

Stop At: Vale Of Rheidol, Terrace Road, Aberystwyth SY23 1NY Wales
Spend some time this morning on the west coast of Wales before embarking on your steam train for the day. The Vale of Rheidol Railway offers 12-miles of breath-taking scenery as you wind your way up the edge of the valley to the mythical Devil's Bridge - said to be the last place in Wales the Devil ever visited. Take a stroll around these beautiful waterfalls before you continue your journey south to the capital city of Cardiff.
