About this activity
This awesome experience will set unforgettable memories on your tongue. Additionally, you have the opportunity to cook in the kitchen of a local family, in their neighborhood, outside the walls of the Centro Historico! Round-trip transportation is provided from your hotel.
The open market & cooking class Cartagena tour includes your choice of a couple of local dishes to prepare and eat. You will be picked up at your hotel or meeting point by a van or an air conditioning vehicle and the chef will be waiting for you at the open market, where you will purchase everything you need and taste fried snacks (arepae’huevo, carimanola, papa rellena) and exotic fruits and juices. You will be able to select the appropriate ingredients for your meal and of course the chef will give suggestions for what you need to buy according to the menu of the day. You will experience the pulse of an authentic community market.

I went on this tour with my husband and six year old daughter. We had a great time and my daughter loved helping and eating what she made. The cooking class was nicely organized and we got to help and learn with every step. You will meet and cook with a Colombian family in their home. The cooking space is laid out well for cooking classes. Definitely a fun and memorable experience to add to your trip to Cartagena.
I truly enjoyed Duran Duran and his wife Maria!!! They treated my family like their own!! We had a great time in the kitchen. We learned not only about the Colombian cuisine, but received a day in the life of what a family in this beautiful country goes through. One of the best tours I have been on!
