The mud was cool but you have to pay the 10k for the massage and mud wash off. You aren’t really given a choice they just start touching you and don’t ask. There is a lot of idle time waiting for food at beach and waiting for transporatation back to hotel. This trip should be much shorter. Also our bus broke down at the end of the tour. Overall ok. Just don’t have high expectations.

This was a very interesting trip. Good thing is that your fee also support local communities (the extra services that cost 5000 COP each such as mud massage, helping you get the mud off you in the lagoon). If you understand this is a basic, no-frills place, you will have a great time!

Elizabeth, was courteous and sweet she made us feel at ease before we got into the mud. She took the time to explain all the rules and regulations before we arrived. The mud is a must the buoyancy is unexpected and the feeling is indescribable overall the experience is a must. I also took the morning that include lunch at Restaurant Donna if you are not eating that fish on the beach you are not living. Go get rejuvenated in that mud best 35 I ever spent.

It is a great price for hotel pick up, transportation, lunch and mud bath. If you are in Cartagena for a few days I would take a half day trip to Totumo. It's more like a mound. You can get a massage for like 2! You also can have the local women bathe you. I just had my husband clean me off ha ha! I do think there was too much down time. They could of easily cut a hour, if not two hours off the tour. I suggest you do the morning session instead of the afternoon.

I had a good time, going into the mud was a cool experience. Keep in mind the drive to/from the volcano is lengthy. I’ve rated a 4 as the people at the volcano can be pushy if you don’t purchase the massage or washing, also the photographer you also have to pay and they damaged one person’s phone.

The tour was fun and relaxing. The mud is something you have to experience for yourself to know how it feels. The only downside is that you're forced to get a massage and to be helped getting cleaned off in the riverwhich you pay for both
