Day 1: Etna & Castelmola

Stop At: Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna, 95030 Nicolosi, Sicily Italy
Meet your Guide after breakfast and drive towards ETNA the biggest and most active volcano of Europe. Reach the altitude of 6500 feet. Soak up the atmosphere of the volcano as you walk at the nearby Silvestri Craters. Possibility to reach 9800 feet by cable car. En route stop for a Wine Tasting at a local winery (optional) which is embedded in a charming and unique context. (If weather for Etna isn’t good, alternatively the program will include Catania & Cyclops Coast).

Stop At: Castillo de Castelmola, Rotabile castelmola, 98030 Castelmola, Sicily Italy
Continuing to the hill-town CASTELMOLA (or Taormina). Back to Taormina in the afternoon. It has ancient origins dating back to the pre-Hellenic period and was inhabited by the ancient population of the Sicilians. During that period, Castelmola was Taormina’s acropolis, probably due to its overhead position. Back to Taormina.

Day 2: Syracuse & Ortigia

Stop At: Parco Archeologico della Neapolis, Via Paradiso 14, 96100, Syracuse, Sicily Italy
Departure with your guide for SYRACUSE, the Greek capital of Sicily, lies in a splendid natural scenery enhanced by the light and beauty of its coast. The most ousted monument in the ancient city is the Theater. 138 meter in diameter and could house 15.000 spectators and more. Neapolis retains the Latomie, which are vast caves used for Ancient Greek building. The biggest of the Latomie del Paradiso, also called “Ear of Dionysius”.

Stop At: Ortigia, Corso Umberto, 96100, Syracuse, Sicily Italy
ORTIGIA is the most illustrious ad fascinating district of Syracuse, and presents a coherent and harmonious medieval road network. Several buildings still retain the vestiges of a past which witnessed the presence of a large Jewish colony on Ortygia, whose well-preserved baths may still be admired. The most important centre in the district is the Cathedral Square, onto whose axis the most notable civil and religious buildings converge. Back to Taormina in the afternoon.
