About this activity
With this 2-hour private guided tour of Catania you will enjoy the most important treasures of the city. You'll explore some of its most important and famous sites and admire the stunning signs of the baroque era all around you.
The walk through the city will pass by Piazza Stesicoro, where you can admire the ruins of the Roman amphitheatre, which was one of the greatest in antiquity. You will then continue along via Etnea, full of baroque buildings, until piazza Università. From there, it's possible to reach the Alessi staircase that leads you to via dei Crociferi; this street is quite famous for its XVI century churches and for being the set where many movies had been filmed!
Passing below the Benedettini arch you will arrive in San Francesco square, dominated by the church of the same name and the monument dedicated to Dusmet cardinal. The tour will end in Piazza Duomo, where, if you want, you can visit the cathedral and the Town hall.
FYI: if you book a morning tour (from Monday to Friday), you can also walk through the Pescheria (near Piazza Duomo), Catania's main market and the second most important market in Sicily.
