About this activity
The Etna wine tasting excursion starts discovering the Silvestri Craters created by the 1892 eruption on the south side of the volcano, then the route continues along a path leading to a ridge that overlooks the Valle del Bove, a huge caldera and scene of the latest spectacular eruption.
The next step is to explore a lava cave with torches and helmets to get into the volcano visiting lava tube.
After visiting the lava cave, we will have a break to enjoy a typical Sicilian lunch all together.
Enjoy a complimentary hotel pickup and transfer from your centrally located Cairns accommodations. Our Tourgide, wich is a Multilanguage guide, pick you up at 9 o clock and brings you to the south side of the Etna. Befor we are driving back to Catania, we will enjoy a typical sicilian lunch all together and you will get a free wine tasting. You will be back at your hotel around 17 o clock.

Awesome tour of Etna! It was a nice hike, and our tour guide had a lot of knowledge about the volcano and the history of Mt. Etna. The local honey/olive oil tasting afterward was enjoyable. However, after the local honey tasting, we had a wine tasting at a vineyard and we felt that this was a bit rushed. The lunch was also a little bland. Besides that, we were extremely pleased with the tour!
