About this activity
• Thursday: Arrival in Catania with your own car, accommodation in your hotel, encounter with the guide, dinner and overnight stay.
• Friday: Park of Etna and Alcantara River Park After being picked up from your hotel at about 8.30 a.m. you will head for Rifugio Sapienza where you can choose one of the following options:
- Trekking in one of the nature paths of “Parco dell’Etna”, up to 2000 m.
- Etna high altitude option: you will first take the cable car and reach 2504 meters. From here you can continue with special 4x4 minibuses and reach 2900 meters (Torre del Filosofo). Here it will be possible to admire the great central crater, the South-East crater and the historical lava flows that characterize the landscape of Etna. You will return to Rifugio Sapienza by minibus and cable car.
- Etna quad tour: during the ride, which lasts about 2 hours, you will cross an eruptive fracture, admire craters, visit a lava flow cave and typical buildings of the area. 
The excursion will continue with the visit of a lava cave with helmets and torches. Then you arrive in Zafferana, where you will visit one of the most famous organic farms for a delicious sampling of typical products.
The tour will continue with the visit of Alcantara. Walking down the small paths along the cultivated fields, where it will be possible to admire the Gurne, natural pools created by the running water. You will continue by visiting the Gorges: canyons formed over the millenniums by the water of the river on the lava basalts of Etna. You will return to your hotel in Catania, for dinner and for the night, around 7:00 pm.
• Saturday: Nebrodi Park After breakfast, transfer to the Nebrodi Park, arriving near Cesarò, in the locality known as “Portella Male Died”. From here you will start a hiking day in lush green forests along a route enabling you to reach the summit of Mount Soro, the highest point of the Nebrodi. You will continue by exploring Lake Maulazzo. From here a hiking path about 5 Km long starts inside the beech woods of the valley Cuderì, along the way it will be easy to run into different flocks and herds of black pigs of Nebrodi, a native species and exclusive of this environment. Then you will reach Biviere Lake. You will return to your hotel in Catania, for dinner and for the night, around 7:00 pm.
• Sunday: Madonie Park After breakfast you will check-out and transfer from Catania to Polizzi Generosa from which the walking route along the path, in the Madonie Park will start. You will pass through an area of particular importance due to the presence of specimens of protected and cataloged Spruces, considered to be endangered. You will return to Catania, where our services end, around 7:00 pm.
