You will meet your English speaking

driver-guide at the exit of the port of Syracuse

and move by a 4x4 vehicle to the North side of

Mt. Etna, the tallest and largest active volcano

in Europe (10990 feet).

The itinerary includes a funny off-road trail

and the guided visit of the extinguished

Sartorious Craters: you will reach 1900 meters

above sea level and you will take a pleasant

walk (about 1 hour). Then you will visit a “lava

cave” and the signs of the last eruptions in this

and fascinating natural environment.

At lunchtime you will reach Patria Winery, one

of the best wineries on the slopes of Mt. Etna.

You will enjoy a guided visit of the old cellar

and the amphitheater made by lava and full of

typical Sicilian vineyards.

You will experience the typical Etna Sicilian

wine and have a complete lunch with some

great Sicilian food and delicacies. Lunch and

wine tasting are included in the fee.

After lunch you will depart to Taormina.

The town was built on a fertile hill (640 ft.

above a turquoise sea) and overlooks the

beautiful bay of Isola Bella with a spectacular

view of Mt. Etna.

Taormina combines the natural beauty with

the artistic and archaeological heritage: you

will take the opportunity to discover the nice

cathedral, the streets of the old town where

you can do shopping and the famous ancient

Greek theater (built in the 2nd century bC).
