About this activity
We will reach one of the most beautiful mountain villages in the Madonie National Park, San Mauro Castelverde. It is Located at the altitude of 1015 metres and it is famous for its Medieval churches and typical small squares where you will can admire a beautiful landscape of the mountains and the sea. After this unforgettable visit we will reach 'Trattoria la Posada', which is located in Karsa, a small hamlet of San Mauro village and run by a very hospitable family, where a real Sicilian feast will be awaiting. Chef Rosa will be also happy to show you the secrets of her culinary art and everything you will taste will be organic foods produced in the surrounding farms.
Rosa will demonstrate three different starters, using fresh seasonal ingredients, and you’ll get to taste the finished product – alongside other Italian staples like pasta and meat – when you sit down to dinner. For the main course, you’ll try a warm vegetable omelette with a tomato sauce.
To keep you company during the dinner, some typical Sicilian music will be played until late night.
A typical day would be:
15.30 - 16:15 Depart resort
17.00 Arrive at San Mauro Castelverde and visit this little hilltop village
18.00 Back on coach to Karsa
18.30 Arrive Trattoria La Posada and Cooking course. Dinner and sometimes dance
22.30 Departure
24.00 Return to hotels

I love this tour! I came all the way from palermo to be picked up in cefalu for this tour. luckily i had another tour guide to sort out my pick up points and taxis etc before as there were so many people so much shambles but at the end the tour guide was attentive to me and sorted out my appointment with my taxi etc. That place is quite cold so bring a jacket. we went to visit st mauro in a village and went for cooking demo and dinner. The musician guy I think I was most impressed with he played with heart and was eager to make people happy all night long. The food is brillant. I tried some new food. I absolutely love the prickly pear and cactus! my new delicacy favourites! I really would like to enquire about some cooking classes actually! I ended up buying the olive oil they had on sale as its absolutely gorgeous! xx
