2-Day Private Tour Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emeishan
D1 Leshan Giant Buddha & 1 night accommodation at Mt Emeishan Entrance
After breakfast, meet your professional guide in the hotel lobby and your private car, clean and air conditioned, will pick you up and set out for Leshan Giant Buddha (2.5 hrs drive / 1 stop in the middle). The Giant Buddha was started in 713 AD and finished in 803 AD during Tang Dynasty, and is listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site in 1996. The height is 71 meters (233 feet) and it is the tallest stone Buddha statue in the world. Upon arrival, guide will lead you enter the park and climb up through 300 stairs to the top where you can get a close picture of the Buddha’s face. You can even imitate touching the Buddha’s ear and nose in a distant view to have a funny picture. Then descend via cliff side zigzag stairway down to the foot of the Buddha and find how big the toe nail is. Wuyou Temple on the other side of the mountain is also available for a visit.(3 hrs in Buddha park) After the Buddha, head to Mount Emei and check in at a 4 star international hotel (included). Walk to the nearby Baoguang Temple for a visit and have diner around.(guide suggest, not included)
D2 Mt Emeishan for the whole day
7:00am meet at the hotel lobby and set out for Mount Emei. Your private car takes you and guide to the entrance. (5 mins drive) Shift on to the Eco-shuttle bus(2 hrs drive from bottom to top). Mr Emei is 1 of 4 most famous Buddhist Mountain in China and is also a great national park for 3200 plant varieties and 2300 animal diversities. Once you reach Leidongping Station of 2400 meters elevation, keep on climb 30 mins along a mountain track, while you’ll have luck to find wild monkeys, to reach the cable car station. Alpenstock is recommended. Take cable car (5 mins) to the Golden Summit of elevation 3077 meters. On the Golden Summit we’ll the Puxian Buddha Holy Statue of 48 meters height and Golden & Bronze Temples. Lunch could be as vegetarian food like the monks do (not included). And then descend to Leidongping station via cable car and take shuttle bus again back to the entrance. The duration in Mt Emei is a whole day. Then in our private car drive back to Chengdu (1.5 hours). Excursion finishes.
