One-Day Tour: Authentic Sichuan Tea House and Leshan Giant Buddha

I had an excellent time with Victor on this tour. He was a thoroughly knowledgeable guide who not only knew a lot of about the history and culture of the cities we visited but also Buddhism, which added a lot to the experience. I loved hiking the giant Buddha and seeing the shrines around it.Ever since I came to China, I've been wanting to visit a place like this: Maoist era artwork, great tea and mahjong. Who could ask for anything more? Pengzhen is a nice city to tour too, with it's structures from the Qing dynasty.

Simply fabulous tour, particularly the old tea-house experience. My guide - Victor - was extraordinarily good. As a fellow photographer we shared much in common and he got me to the righ places at the right time for great photos. His passion, knowledge and professionalism was better than most guides I have had in China. Highly recommended

What can we say My husband and I booked Victor for one day and we ended up booking him again for a whole day a few days later. This guy is unbelievably courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating. We had already explored parts of Chengdu for a few days and then we went onto our pre-booked Leshan Buddha/Sichuan tea house tour. Whilst we enjoyed ourselves he quizzed us on everything we had done and explained so much of what we didnt understand there are so many subtleties! and enriched our experiences. We wont go into detail on the attractions in Sichuan/Chengdu as it doesnt take much to sell this amazing place, however Victor showed us teahouses, the worlds biggest Buddha in Leshan, the worlds biggest temple in Emei, the Jinsha Site museum, Dujiangyan irrigation project and Qingcheng Shan. He was fantastic in showing us a real local side and way of living. Especially with regards to food options, he asked us what sort of food we liked and explained in great detail what we may expect to make sure we were comfortable with choices not everyone would enjoy the famous Sichuan peppers! I am sure he had a great local food choice for anyones palate no matter how picky. We were able to enjoy some fantastic restaurants and local safe street food options which we would have never ventured into by ourselves! He even suggested a great number of food options near our hotel to enjoy in our own time, including detailed instructions how to order no easy task for English only speakers. Victor really went the extra mile to make our visit really special. We asked us what other plans we had on other days and he was even able to email us some instructions on how to get to some of the out of the way places. Not to mention giving us many options for the Sichuan Opera and organizing tickets! He tailored much of what we did to our preferences and pacing, so he kindly squeezed in other attractions which we did not think wed get time to do. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we was conscious of our comfort and also making sure we had enough photos of both of us! It was almost like travelling with a friend, he was that easy going wow! We would recommend him to anyone. On a separate note, we noticed many travellers stopping in Chengdu for only 1-2 days, mainly to see Pandas. Obviously they are great and a must see, but Chengdu has so much more to offer!
