Stop At: Panda Valley, Baima Village Yutang Town, Dujiangyan China

Have an intimate contact with Giant pandas. Learn about pandas and the efforts being made to conserve this endangered species on this 6-8 hours private trip from Chengdu. Travel to the renowned Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Dujiangyan to observe pandas and do volunteer work at the base. Learn how to prepare panda food and even get the chance to feed them under the supervision of panda experts. Lunch is included.

Your day begins with a 7:00am pickup from your central Chengdu hotel(You will go to do the volunteer work and the pandas are most active in the morning, so you should get up early to do this work). Greet your driver-guide and together head about one and half an hour to the world-renowned Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Dujiangyan.

Upon arrival meet the local staff. And then, the staff will show you around the base before beginning your volunteer work. A lecturer from the base gives you a brief introduction on the panda and they work that they are doing to conserve this endangered species.

You will be provided with gloves and overalls in order to protect the animals and then learn how to prepare panda food by washing and carrying fresh bamboo or fruits and also help to make cakes. You will also clean the panda enclosure. Under close supervision of center staff, you have the opportunity to feed the pandas.

After these programs, you will have your lunch in panda base. In the afternoon,you could have a free walk in panda base, take photos for these lovely pandas and watch a short panda film about how to protect pandas and get along with them. And you also could continue your panda volunteer work to help staff to clean the indoor and outdoor enclosure and learn the lecture to make the special bread for pandas.

In the end ,you will get a certificate and a souvenir from the Dujiangyan panda base.

Your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your hotel in Chengdu with a good memory.
