You will be picked up from your hotel in Chennai by 9:30 am and proceed for this exciting Chennai city tour with your local tour guide.

First, you will explore St. George Fort, located on the banks of the Bay of Bengal. Historically know as a white town, It was built by the British East India Company in 1640 AD. The fort is believed to be the first establishment of the British in India. It is a military architecture marvel, and now the fort is serving as the administrative headquarters of the legislative assembly of the state of Tamil Nadu. 

The most popular structures inside the fort include the Museum, Wellesley House and Clive House. You will visit The Fort Museum, which contains a large selection of arms and armaments, and exhibits a wide range of artifacts dating back to the British period.

Next, you will visit the Kapaleeshwar Temple, built around the 7th century CE. It is a fine example of Dravidian architecture and is dedicated to Lord Shiva, called Kapaleeshwar. The statue of his wife, Parvati, is also situated in the temple and known as Karpagamabl. You will also see several other temple houses other shrines that are dedicated to lords such as Ganesha, Muruga and Sani Bhagvan.

Following your temple visit, you will tour the Government Museum and Art Gallery of Chennai. This is one of the best museums in India. Afterwards, you will visit Marina Beach where you can relax and unwind, and watch the sunset. After your trip, you will be transferred back to your hotel around 4:00 pm.
