About this activity
Chennai is a fascinating city with the ancient temples and unique cultures, the golden sandy beaches merging with the breakers of the Bay of Bengal and a marvellous tradition of music and dance. The St. George Fort, a 350-year-old fort with wide battlements is a reminder to the British Empire. Today, the old buildings in the fort, house the Tamil Nadu State Government Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly. Within the fort complex, a number of other early buildings still stand, of which St. Mary's Church is the most interesting. The Fort St. George Museum contains some of the fascinating items belonging to the East India Company and the colonial period. The renowned Kapaleeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple complex has the traditional market, the tank and Brahmin residential houses.

After the city tour, enjoy the delicious street food culture of Chennai. You will visit traditional food stalls that developed in the folds of the culture of Chennai. At each stop, you will unravel the history, tradition, and culture behind the "house specialities". Highlights include Novelty's delectable pav bhaji, Cheena’s uttapam and idli Kakada, and Ramprasad’s badam (almond) milk. The tour can be customized to meet your diet preferences and do let us know if you have any food allergies.
