3 Days Hill Tribe Villages Jungle Trek
0900hr: Depart from hotel in Chiang Mai by truck, on the way stopping at the Mae Malai local market. Observe and mingle with local people trading their goods; food, vegetables, fruits and flowers. Following this, continue to visit the waterfall where lunch will be provided and afterwards enjoy a swim in the fresh water. Following this, drive along the winding road to Huay Nam Dung National Park to visit a Shan village. Begin by walking through the jungle for 1½ -2 hours to a Karen hilltribe village. On the way the guide will explain about the various tree types. On arrival at the village there is time to explore and meet the local people.
DAY 2: KAREN HILL TRIBE VILLAGE - LAHU HILL TRIBE VILLAGEWake up and eat breakfast surrounded by fog which is often seen here in the morning. On the second day, you will do trekking (approximate 3 hours) to the elephant camp. After arriving at the elephant camp you can relax while the mahout goes to get the elephants from the forest and prepares the comfortable chair for you. Meanwhile the guide will prepare a meal for you to enjoy and relax around the elephant camp (Do not recommend to take elephant riding) Then proceed to a Lahu hilltribe village ( Bann Pong Ngan ) for the overnight stay
DAY 3: LAHU HILL TRIBE VILLAGE - CHIANG MAIEnjoy a marvellous breakfast in the forest. After breakfast, there is rafting for 1½ - 2 hours, including a stop to visit a Karen hilltribe village. Continue exciting bamboo rafting, passing many rapids to a Shan village where lunch will be provided. Late afternoon, transfer back to Chiang Mai by local truck. Arrive in Chiang Mai approx 17.30hr and transfer directly to hotel or airport.
