Here is Wat Chaimongkol in Chiang Mai. It is one of the most valuable ancient temples in the province.
In the past, Wat Chaimongkol was once a Mon temple. It was built in the age of Tilokaraj. Its former name is Wat Maloe, or Maloeng, which mean the sunrise both. The main highlight of this temple is its Mon Chedi, which looks glorious and shiny with golden and white color.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Mae Ping River, Chiang Mai Thailand
start cruising through rural Mae Ping River by long-tail boat for 45 minutes. Softly moving along the river, you will see wooden houses and modern residences with colorful scenery and lifestyle of the local people.
Stop at the Local farmer’s house and see a variety of herbs to use for both in medicine and cooking. Enjoy a snack of seasonal fresh fruit and savoir the refreshing taste of lemon grass and other herb juices.

Stop At: Warorot Market (Kad Luang), between Thapae Road and Chang Moi Road In the north of Nawarat Bridge and the west side of Ping River, Chiang Mai Thailand
Continue by boat to Warorote Market, the biggest local Market in Chiang Mai which sells everything from clothes and textiles to fruits, herbs, flowers, vegetables, insects and even fireworks.

Stop At: Wat Phra Singh, Singharat Road Phra Sing Subdistrict, Chiang Mai Thailand
In order to feel more about the local lifestyle, take a Sam-Lor (Trishaw) ride along Thapae Road down though the Old City Walls and visit Phra Singh Temple, which was built in the year 1345. This temple contains marvelous examples of Lanna art including a Lanna style viharn and the finest scripture repository of its type in the north.
