A very early morning pick-up by a driver (around 05:30 hrs) is followed by a short transfer to the hot air balloon ascension site. Once arriving at the site, you are greeted by the English speaking crew and your pilot for the morning. Alongside fellow flyers, you slowly will see the balloon taking shape as you prepare to ascend into the basket. From here, it is 50 minutes of sheer enjoyment passing by under you – from the meandering Ping River to rice paddy fields, villages and temple roofs protruding against tree canopies, Chiang Mai suddenly is elevated to new moments of awe-inspiring moments. From afar, one may see the contours of Doi Suthep already basking in the morning sun as your pilot slowly guides the balloon back to earth.

Built some 600 years ago, the Wat Prathat Doi Suthep is Chiang Mai’s most important and visible landmark, located near the summit of Doi Suthep at 1676 metres above sea level. The final climb to the site is via a magnificent Naga staircase of 306 steps. On a clear day, there are great views over the city and valley of Chiang Mai. With lunch included at a local restaurant, you will head back to your Chiang Mai hotel at around 14:00 hrs

- Hotel expenses of a personal nature, should an overnight be included: this includes mini-bar consumption, laundry, room service, any telephone or other communication cost not mentioned in the program
- Travel insurance coverage for customers (highly recommendable)

- The hot air balloon flight is operated on joint / Seat-In-Coach basis only with English-speaking assistance, as where the Doi Suthep tour is operated on full private basis with English or German-speaking guide.
- Depending on the number of guests on any confirmed tours, the correct type of car / mini-van/coach cannot be confirmed upon reservation. This also depends on the availability of accommodation.
- Transfers are only operated within the downtown Chiang Mai areas and restricted to main hotels only. Regions outside the central business district such as Mae Rim, Hang Dong, Doi Saket, Mae Taeng and Chiang Mai International Airport are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
- We regret that are unable to provide pick-up and drop-off transfer services from and to apartment complexes, local guest houses or private apartments. We advise you kindly to head on your own arrangement to the nearest hotel inside the downtown Chiang Mai area.
- We will do all possible to comply with any dietary requirements during this excursion; it may not always be possible to confirm your wishes in advance based on the choice of local restaurant.
- Due to the nature of this tour, we regret to inform you that this excursion is not suitable for wheelchair users.
- Royal temples and palaces uphold a very strict dress code: it is essential that you dress appropriately during this excursion by wearing clothes that cover shoulders and fall below the knees. Customers wearing shirts with obscene and disrespectful prints and pictures and brightly-coloured clothing may be refused entrance.
- We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
- Customer may require signing waivers before taking the balloon flight.
- Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sunrays still have an immense power.
- We reserve the right to make necessary changes to the excursion in case of unfavourable weather conditions or situations where we are forced to make alterations to guarantee the safety of our guests. In windy or otherwise marginal conditions the pilot may choose to postpone or cancel the flight, as safety is highly valued.
- Fortunately Thailand typically has perfect ballooning weather thus flights rarely need to be cancelled. In the event we do need to cancel a flight due to weather conditions, we will be delighted to reschedule the flight.
- Program only is operational from 05:30 hrs in the morning.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in accommodation outside 48 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 48 hours may be on request.
- We recommend wearing light, comfortable cotton clothing and comfortable shoes.
- Customer heath criteria for flying: all customer must have a height not less than 140 cm. and have good health, without ailments that do not allow strenuous exercise.
- Best period for hot air ballooning in Chiang Mai runs from mid-November until mid-March
