Went with my 3 young kids and we had a long but great day out. Our guide was lovely and we were lucky to have a fab group. The food at the restaurant was really good. Be prepared that some of it was going to markets and being hassled to buy. The tribes market not so bad but the market over at Lao was dirty and the sellers rude but You just have to ignore it. I know some people say it’s a waste of money and should have just organised it myself but If like me you are happy to pay that little extra to have a relaxing experience then I really recommend it.
The tour says it is approx. 10 hours but after I got in the vehicle I was told it will be approx. 14 hours. I had a flight to catch, so the 14 hours wouldn't work for me. The guide was able to switch me to a day tour of Chiang Rai. Overall, it was still a good experience and the guides were experiences enough to fix my problem quickly. However, for those who make tight schedules like myself, just know this tour runs approx. 14 hours.
