Really wonderful tour. We got to see with my wife an authentic sheep farm, the shearing of a sheep, a sheep dog working going out to gather and bring back about 12 sheep and putthing them in a corner, all this done by a farmer only whistling at him. Unbelievable... afterwards definitively book the jet boat tour which is only about 10 minutes down the road on the Waimakariri river. Great experience too to top off the day!
Was a little dissapointed in this tour. Basically just visited a man's back yard were there were about two dozen or so sheep. He gave a brief sheering demonstration, we had tea and cookies and left. It lasted about 30-40 minutes or so. I was expecting a little more especially considering the price of the tour.
This sheep farm is small. Not many sheeps which expected I can see. Its only around 100 - 200 sheeps in the farm only. Anyway, sheep farm tour was good to understand the sheep shaving. If I got chance to shave the sheep, drink sheep's milk, it would be much better.
This tour as great! The guys who run it are friendly and genuine. Got to shear a sheep, eat shortbread for morning tea and talk rugby. Perfect morning
Not quite what we expected, although we were treated well, especially being the only ones on the visit. I think that with a few more 'tweaks', it would be a great trip, but it still needs some work.
