Stop At: Ko Tane Maori Experience, 60 Hussey Road Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, Christchurch 8051 New Zealand
Your evening will commence at 5.30pm with an official welcome to Aotearoa, New Zealand, a traditional Māori pōwhirior welcome. The pōwhiri is the Māori's most ancient ceremony and is still conducted today. You will experience a challenge by a freasome warrior before being welcomed into our interactive replica pre-European hunting village. As part of your interactive village experience you will learn about the tools and skills of the Māori hunter, his cooking techniques, the games he played to pass away his day and traditional instruments used to communicate with his Gods.
It's then time to sit back and relax whilst our kapahaka group entertain you with a 45 minute performance including action songs, poi dances, haka, stick games and weapons displays.
Throughout your experience there are plenty of photo opportunities and the chance to ask questions.
