About this activity

On our Madison Avenue food tour, we visit local family owned eateries where we taste delicious food featuring global cuisine and "down home" Kentucky favorites! We enjoy a variety of foods such as decadent home made biscuits with Kentucky ham and black pepper jelly at Hotel Covington. Right around the corner is McK's Chicks, a new eatery with the best barbecue brisket sliders you've ever tasted. Next, we sample an epic taco in a new tequila bar. After a stroll down historic Madison Avenue, we visit a New York Style deli featuring Sicilian style pizza. We move on to Braxton Brewing Company for a local craft beer sample in a refurbished Sears and Roebuck store. We experience a taste of France at Left Bank, a French inspired coffee house featuring locally roasted coffee and end our culinary adventure at Sugar Whiskey Sis for a full size yummy creme brulee. The food tastings are more than ample for a satisfying lunch. Guests who like to order additional drinks, may simply run their own tab.

As we stroll up Madison Avenue, we not only enjoy worldly cuisines, but our well-informed local tour guides will help you uncover old and new landmarks and share about the exciting renaissance the city is undergoing. At it's peak, Madison Avenue was a cultural epicenter, with premier shopping, banking, theaters and celebrations. Current revitalization efforts are restoring this historic gem to it's former glory, providing many ethnic restaurants a new home. From the German Mutter Gottes neighborhood to Pike Street, our food tour allows the curious traveler to discover the historic significance of Covington and it's continuing ties with immigrants from all over the world. While you're enjoying this interesting walk, our food tour guides will share recommendations and tips about other neighborhoods who are also a foodie´s haven.

The food, tax and 20% gratuity to the servers is included in your ticket. Gratuities for the tour guide are appreciated, however. Street parking is free all day on Sundays.

Laura was a well-informed tour guide and gave us a fun a lot of fun-facts about the up-and-coming area of Covington, Kentucky. The food was great and by the end of the tour we were in a food coma. We really appreciated the photos she sent to us- they were a nice touch that we have never had from other food tours.
