Day 1: Cluj - Turda - Alba Iulia - Hunedoara - Sibiu

Stop At: Salina Turda, Aleea Durgaului 7, Turda 401200 Romania
You will descend into the underground where you'll completely be surrounded by salt. Walk on a man-made gallery, visit three mining chambers, learn about mining techniques and local urban legends and, nevertheless, take a boat or a Ferris-wheel ride. The visit of the mine involves climbing and descending some stairs. In total there about steps to go up and down, but most of them can be avoided by taking two different elevators.

Visit the Vauban style fortress, built during the 18th century on top of two previous fortresses.

Stop At: Castelul Corvinilor (Corvins' Castle), Strada Castelului 1-3, Hunedoara 331141, Romania
Visit the most impressive Gothic castle from Transylvania. Learn about medieval defense architecture, legends connected to the Dracula story and the Hunyad family.

Day 2: Sibiu - Bran - Brasov

Stop At: Sibiu, Romania
Visit Sibiu, the best defended medieval fortress in Transylvania, the ancient capital of all Transylvanian Saxons, the so called European Capital of Culture in 2007.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Str. General Traian Mosoiu nr. 24, Bran 507025 Romania
Built on a cliff during the Middle Ages and modernized at the beginning of the 20th century, Bran castle is now one of the most visited places in Romania. You will get the chance to find out what is it’s connection with the famous character Dracula.

Stop At: Black Church (Biserica Neagra), Curte Honterus Johannes nr. 2, Brasov 500025 Romania
Brasov, originally a Saxon town, called Kronstadt in German and Stalin for a short period during the communist regime. Here you will visit the Black Church, hiding the largest collection of Ottoman carpets in Europe, and some medieval towers and bastions (if it’s on a Monday, the visit to the Black Church will be substituted with another visit).

Day 3: Brasov - Viscri - Sighisoara - Cluj

Stop At: Viscri Fortified Church, Viscri 507039 Romania
This rural establishment will unveil us the best preserved and restored traditional Saxon village in Transylvania, one of the few where the community is still very much alive, where small rural businesses are surviving in a modern world, and, nevertheless, where HRH Prince Charles of Wales owns a traditional Saxon household. Visit the 13th c. fortified church (UNESCO patrimony).

Stop At: Sighisoara Historic Center, Piata Cetatii Nr.1 Center of Sighisoara, Sighisoara 545400 Romania
Sighisoara medieval fortress is one of the few of it’s kind still inhabited in Europe. Surrounded by 9 of the initial 14 defense towers, each one belonging to a local guild, the fortress shelters not only beautiful medieval architecture, but also medieval legends, such as the one connected to Vlad the Impaler ‘Dracula' birthplace.

  • The constant temperature inside the salt mine is 10-12° C. Appropriate clothing recommended.
  • Given that there are stairs to go down and up in the salt mine, we recommend non-slippery shoes and, if possible, no high heels.
  • Not recommended to visit the salt mine if:
  • under age 3 and over 65; (children between the ages of 2 and 3 and those over the age of 65 have access to the saline with the advice of the doctor)
  • asthma severe persistent form; asthma; asthma crisis complications - atelectasia, pulmonary emphysema, pneumothorax, respiratory acidosis; complications related to medication - severe bronchospasm, severe allergic reactions
  • COPD complications - acute respiratory failure, chronic decompensated pulmonary cord, pneumothorax;
  • TB regardless of stage;
  • pulmonary neoplasia;
  • acute ENT disorders - rhinopharyngitis, tracheobronchitis, acute pneumonia;
  • cardiovascular disease (stage III HTA, recent myocardial infarction, frequent seizure angina, chronic decompensated pulmonary cord), grade II-III cardiac insufficiency,
  • digestive disorders - acute hyperacid gastritis, acute hepatitis, acute cholecystitis;
  • acute renal disease, bladder / kidney lithiasis;
  • decompensated diabetes mellitus;
  • collagenosis, acute / chronic rheumatic diseases in inflammatory puse;
  • peripheral and central neurological disorders (craniocerebral trauma, cerebral abscess, stroke, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, epilepsy)
  • third-quarter pregnancy
  • anxiety-depressive syndrome; claustrophobia;- postoperatively for a period of 1-2 months.
