Quest for Gold in Rosia Montana

We will depart from Cluj and will travel on the 
The Golden Trail of the Carpathian Mountains to Romania’s most controversial site: 
Rosia Montana. We will go underground and discover the 
Roman mines, that were still active until the 1990s and find out 
many legends. Then we will travel back to the real world to visit 
members of the local community who have opposed the large 
mining project in the past years. This was supposed to 
bring new jobs to the area, but would have had 
catastrophic consequences on the surroundings. 
Of course we will not forget to have a delicious lunch
 made with locally grown products, we will also visit a 
wool production 
workshop, and we will have the opportunity of 
meeting many interesting people.
In the evening, we will return cu Cluj.
