Pass By: Fatima Luz e Paz, Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Rectory of the Sanctuary, Fatima 2495 Portugal

Considered by many the most important Marian Shrine in the world, where Our Lady appeared to three children from very humble families in 1917. We will explain the importance of the apparitions to the region and to the World, we will visit the oldest Chapel known as Chapel of the Apparitions in the exact place of the apparitions and to the two Basilicas; the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.

Pass By: Casa De Francisco & Jacinta Marto, Rua dos Pastorinhos, Fatima 2495-301 Portugal

A few minutes from the Sanctuary we have “Valinhos”, a small village, extremely well preserved, where the three children and their families lived and where they left to take the animals to graze during the apparitions. We will visit the house of Francisco and Jacinta (who were brothers) and of Lucia de Jesus (their cousin). The entrance to their houses is free.

In Portuguese, the word “batalha” literally means “battle” or “fight”. After a trip of about thirty minutes, we arrive at the Monastery of Batalha, one of the greatest examples of Gothic architecture in Portugal and in Europe. Built as a promise from the King after the important victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota against the Spanish, this monastery took about 150 years to complete! The battle of Aljubarrota is key to the maintenance of the independence of Portugal over the Spaniards.

The fishing village of Nazaré is the most charismatic fishing village in Portugal. There you will see the fish being dried on the beach, as well as the historically famous ladies of the "seven skirts". Recently Nazaré became known for having the biggest waves in the World and breaking world-records year after year after year.

Pass By: Obidos Village, Obidos Portugal

Be prepared to have your breath taken away when arriving at Óbidos. In this Unesco World Heritage site, we will go back to the medieval period and we will explore the beautiful narrow and whitewashed streets of Óbidos. Besides the historical context, we will also dive into the typical gastronomic flavors of this beautiful part of Portugal.
