We start this fantastic journey from Lisbon, heading north to Fátima Sanctuary. It is a town located 142 km North of Lisbon. Here you will visit one of the most important sanctuaries in Europe and one of the most revered shrines in the Catholic world. This sanctuary is visited by thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.
As we reach Fátima you can visit the Recint, Basílica, Chapel of Apparitions (it was the first edifice constructed in the Cova da Iria, at the place of Our Lady's Apparitions).
In addition, several other structures and monuments were built in the intervening years to commemorate the events associated with the events in 1916. We also get to visit the house where the brothers Jacinta and Francisco lived and is located about 200 meters from the house of their cousin Lúcia.
Next to this house is the House-Museum of Aljustrel, which exhibits implements agricultural, kitchen utensils, clothes and furniture showing visitors how the daily life of these mountainous peoples was at the beginning of the century XX.
