Day 1: Negombo - Kandy

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
The Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Tooth Relic is one of the holiest temples in the Buddhist world, as it houses the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha that was brought from India. It is considered the symbolic representation of the living Buddha. The holy temple is also responsible for one of the oldest processions in Asia dating back to the 3rd century BC, which has become one of the main attractions in Kandy for locals and foreigners alike.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Road, Peradeniya 20400 Sri Lanka
Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, the finest of its kind in Asia, the largest of the botanical gardens of Sri Lanka, couldn't be better located. In the Mediterranean climate of Kandy, the gateway to the Central Highlands, the Gardens, at an elevation of 500 meters above sea-level, were tightly bounded on three sides by a loop of River Mahaweli ,The largest river of Sri Lanka.

Stop At: Kandy Lake, Centre of Kandy City, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Kandy Lake was artificially constructed by the last king of Sri Lanka and Kandy, Wikrama Rajasinhe, as an additional feature for the beautifully laid out Temple of Tooth complex. Also called the Milky Ocean, the lake remains partially incomplete due to the British invasion in 1815. Several legends are connected to Kandy Lake and it is believed that the king installed a secret tunnel from its island to the palace. Nowadays, it remains one of the most highly regarded sights in the country and, despite its location in the center of the bustling city, the lake makes for a wonderful stroll and a respite from the noise of motorbikes and market vendors.

Day 2: Kandy - Sigiriya

Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Main Road, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
Sigiriya is a must visit for every Sri Lankan. The natural rock column has been inhabited by humans (as a monastery, mainly) since the 3rd Century BC, but its most famous inhabitant was King Kashyapa in 477 AD. We'll get to all that later. Sigiriya is 60-90 minute climb but you can spend a lot longer there. The terraced top has beautiful views and it's a great pleasure to imagine all the ancients who hung out there.

Stop At: Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, Kandy - Jaffna Highway, Dambulla 21100 Sri Lanka
Located at an elevation of 1118 feet from the sea level rises a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high and over 2000 feet in length. It is home to the Worlds most acclaimed Cave complex of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock Paintings of vivid colours and shapes constructed and painted from around 2nd Century BC (Anuradhapura era ) and continued up to the Kandyan era of the 18th Century. Sinhalese people call it as ' Dambulu Gala' ( Dambulla Rock)

Day 3: Sigiriya - Wilpattu National Park - Negombo

Stop At: Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka
Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s oldest and largest national park, famous for watching Leopard and Sloth Bear. Wilpattu National Park is situated along the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. It comprises of a unique complex of lakes called Villus, which are natural basins that are filled up with rainwater and are surrounded by open grassy plains set within dense scrub jungle. A multitude of sandy paths wind around the entire park and open up into these large natural lakes. The unspoilt and beautiful Wilpattu National Park is one of the largest and oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka.
