Day 1: Colombo-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya

Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is near the Mahaweli River. It is renowned for its collection of orchids.

Pass By: Galle Face Green, Galle Road, Colombo Sri Lanka
This long open space traditionally faces a narrow beach and the sea. This is the most popular beachfront park in Colombo city, to have a relaxing evening and see the sunset. Not only that, there are many activities to do such as walking, jogging, tasting sr Lankan street foods, fly kites and enjoy the fresh air. In the morning many people used to come to Galle face for exercising and in the fall of night street food vendors open their stalls where you can taste Sri Lanka's most famous 'Kottu Rotti' and 'Isso Wade'

Pass By: Old Parliament Building, Fort, Colombo Sri Lanka
This Neo-Baroque-style building was built during the British colonial era to house the Legislative Council of Ceylon. It was built on an idea of Sir Henry McCallum, which led to a proposal made by a committee to construct the new building for the Secretariat, Council Chamber and Government offices on reclaimed land at the northern end of Galle Face’ were accepted by the Government in 1920.

Pass By: Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy Sri Lanka
Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, also known as Muttiah Muralitharan International Cricket Stadium, is a cricket stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka. In July 2010, The Central Provincial Council in Kandy announced plans to rename the stadium to honor the legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan but hasn’t officially done so yet. The stadium was opened on 27 November 2009 and became the 104th Test venue in the world in December 2010.

The Royal Palace of Kandy in Kandy was the royal residence of the Sinhalese monarchy of the Kingdom of Kandy in Sri Lanka. The last king to reside in it was King Sri Vikrama Rajasinha until he was overthrown by the British in 1815 with the aid of Kandian chieftains. Once part of a large palace complex that included the King’s Palace, Royal Audience, Queen’s Palace, King’s Harem Quarters and Queen’s Bathing Pavilion, together with the Temple of the Tooth that held the Relic of the tooth of the Buddha. A very well-maintained park and woodland, originally laid out by Sri Wickrama Rajasinha, with good walking trails.

Day 2: Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains – Nuwara Eliya

Ambewela is a small town, or a hill station, located in the Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. The area is also sometimes called "Little New Zealand". The town is situated approximately 17 km south-east of the district capital Nuwara Eliya. Ambewela is also a service center to the New Galway tea planting district

Stop At: Sita Temple, Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
The Sita Amman Temple dedicated to Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, situated in the hills of Nuwara Eliya, is treated with enduring devotion by Hindus as it is considered to be the only such temple in the world. It is located five kilometers along the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. History has it that this is the place where King Ravana held Sits imprisoned. What is interesting about the temple is the presence of footprints by the river, which is construed as being akin to Hanuman’s.

Stop At: Hakgala Botanic Gardens, Badulla Road, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other four are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is the second largest garden in Sri Lanka.

Stop At: Horton Plains National Park, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 metres is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region

Pass By: Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Gregory Lake was created in 1873 by the British era Governor at the time, Sir William Gregory, supposedly for the purpose of providing electricity. However, the lake was mainly used for leisure and recreation after it was built. At its peak of fame, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area and was used as a place to relax by many visitors.

Pass By: St Clair's Falls, Hatton-Talawakele Highway, Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
One of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, the waterfall is found in the Nuwara Eliya district. It comprises of two smaller falls, ‘Mala Ella’ —The Greater Fall and ‘Kuda Ella’ —The Lesser Fall and is within close proximity of the Mlesna Tea Castle, St Clair. The name St. Clair was crowned cause the St. Clair tea plantation surrounded by the fall.

Stop At: Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, Kandy-Nuwaraeliya Road, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple is built by the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka. Located in Ramboda on Kandy-Nuwara Eliya Road located approximately 30 odd kilometers North of Nuwara Eliya on the A-5 route facing the Kotmale Reservoir. The Chinmaya Mission is a Hindu spiritual organization engaged in the dissemination of Vedanta, the science of the self as expounded in the Vedas, particularly the Upanishads, and other important Hindu scriptures including the Bhagavad Gita.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya – Kitulgala – Colombo

Owner, Channa, is the epitome of life in the woodland and on the river - safari shorts, braces, a woolly beard and a love of wildlife.
