Day 1: Negombo - Kitulgala - Nuwara Eliya

Sri Lanka's white water rafting has become the no. 1 extreme sport in the country. Rafting in Sri Lanka through these turbulent waters, you will feel a sense of adventure like never before. The less turbulent areas of the ride may be a great time to see wildlife, especially birds of many varieties and several species of monkey. The calmness does not last too long, though, as the main event the rapid come at you and toss and turn you with all its might. When white water rafting, you lose control of everything, and your body takes over to try to survive the experience. The sudden adrenaline rush you get when this happens is second to none.

Day 2: Nuwara Eliya

Stop At: Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Built during the British rule of Ceylon by the then Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873, this manmade lake with its placid waters and beautiful backdrop situated just 15 minutes away from the hotel offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy boat rides, pony rides and lakeside picnics making it a family friendly spot for recreation and relaxation.

Stop At: Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya, A5, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
This colourfully laid out park spanning 27 acres was named ‘Queen Victoria Park’ to commemorate the 60th Jubilee Coronation of Queen Victoria in 1897. Endowed with a large variety of trees and flowering plants, it is a quiet spot in busy Nuwara Eliya where one can refresh, relax and indulge in some great bird watching. The park also has its own kid’s play area making it a big attraction with the little ones and is just 15 minutes away from the hotel.

Stop At: Aadishakti Seeta Amman Temple. (Sita Mata Temple), Seetha Eliya, Sri Lanka
It is believed to the exact spot where King Ravana of Lanka held Sita of Ramayana fame captive. The thick forest of Ashoka trees, the idols, including that of Sita discovered some time ago, the rock where Sita sat and meditated and the stream where she bathed are some interesting things that are associated with this mythological legend.

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya - Ella

Stop At: Hakgala Botanic Gardens, Badulla Road, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
The Hakgala Botanical Gardens established in 1861 is situated 16 kilometres outside the Nuwara Eliya town and just 5 minutes from the hotel. It was originally established for the cultivation of medicinal crops, later turned into a tea plantation and today a botanical garden famed for its flora, especially its roses and orchids! It is also closely associated with the epic Ramayana of Indian fame.

Stop At: Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, Gotuwala, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
The Nine Arch bridge in Ella is a beautiful construction set in even more impressive surroundings and is well worth a visit if you are in Ella. The legend goes that when the bridge was being built, while Sri Lanka was still under British rule, the Great War broke out. As a result, the British reallocated the steel that was meant to be used for the bridge construction to the war effort and the bridge was built by local talented craftsmen using only stone bricks and cement.

Stop At: Mini Adams Peak, Ella Sri Lanka
This is the most popular trek in the area so expect to bump into fellow travelers. Unlike the trek, to Ella Rock, the trek to Little Adams Peak is clearly signposted. Look for the signs to the 98 acres Ella and you are on the right path. You will pass some lush tea plantations on the way and once you reach the top you will be able to view some panoramic breathtaking views.

Day 4: Ella - Yala - Negombo

Stop At: Ella Rock, Ella Main Street NECS-Nature Exploration and Conservation Society Sri Lanka, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Trekkers would love the place. It’s bit tiring to do the hiking. But it is definitely worth it. Once you got to the summit you will realize why we said so. The panoramic views it provides with mist and cloud covering the area, especially in the early mornings and the late evenings are something you should witness and that would suffice enough to say that you visited Ella.

Stop At: Yala National Park, Sri Lanka
Yala national park basking on the southern province of Sri Lanka is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. Yala national park was established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and upgraded as a National park in 1938. In addition, to enter the park, you must come to the gateway at Tissamaharama. You can entertain an aromatic area on a safari jeep provided by the authorities.
