8-Day Sri Lanka Experience in a Homestay from Colombo

Day 1: Arrive in Sigiriya (D)
Upon your arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your very own chauffeur to begin the 4-hour transfer to Sigiriya. Spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Sigiriya (B,D)
Have breakfast, then walk in the village to see the day-to-day activities of farmers with a visit to a paddy field. In the afternoon, you will be able to visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress with its rocky abode & water gardens. Come the evening, you can spend time with the local family in your home stay where you will watch them prepare a traditional Sri Lankan dinner.

Day 3: Sigiriya to Kandy (B,D)
After breakfast, you will make the 3-hour drive to Kandy. While en route, visit Dambulla Cave Temple, arguably, one of the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples and spice gardens. Spend time with the local family at your homestay in the evening.

Day 4: Pinnawala Visit with Kandy City Tour (B,D)
Enjoy breakfast, then head out to visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala. Take a city tour of Kandy afterwards, visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooty relic, upper lake drive, market square, and more. Head back to your homestay in the evening.

Day 5: Kandy to Ella (B,D)
After breakfast, you will be driven to the Peradeniya Railway station to begin a scenic train journey to Ella Railway station. The train will depart at 9:30am for a 3:30pm arrival in Ella. A driver will be available to transfer you to your new homestay.

Day 6: Ella Sightseeing (B,D)
Partake in some Ella sightseeing after enjoying a filling breakfast. See Ella Gap, Rawana Waterfalls, and even Little Adam's Peak. Spend your evening with the local family in your homestay and observe as they prepare a typical dinner.

Day 7: Ella to Colombo (B,D)
Prepare for the 6-hour drive to Colombo by scarfing down a delicious breakfast. Upon your arrival, spend your day as you wish.
Overnight: 3-star hotel

Day 8: Colombo Departure (B)
After breakfast, you will make the 1-hour drive to the Bandaranaike International Airport for your departing flight
