Day 1: Negombo - Galle

Stop At: Galle Fort, Church Street, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
Galle is one of the UNESCO heritage site's and is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers. Take an exciting walk through this heritage site that boasts of a colorful history. Observe the many sites such as the Old Gate with the British Coat-of-Arms inscribed on it, the Old Dutch Hospital, the ramparts that run around the fortress with its excellent view of the ocean, the clock tower built in 1882, the light house built in 1939,the many bastions, each made for a specific purpose, Dutch colonial style houses with gables and verandas.

Stop At: Maritime Archeological Museum (Galle), Queen Street Duch fort, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
The Maritime Museum in Galle showcases a collection of boat models, maps, artillery and things found from ship-wrecks, some almost a century old. It is inside a 1671 Dutch warehouse, and was severely affected by the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka - but since 2010 has bounced back with aid from the Netherlands, and is pretty well maintained and informative. You get a lot of Chinese ceramic retrieved from ships, and some interesting relics and depictions of real people.

Stop At: Dutch Reformed Church, Church Street, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
The Dutch Reformed Church is the oldest Protestant church in Sri Lanka. Originally, constructed on the site of a Portuguese Capuchin convent upon the Dutch conquest in 1640, the present church was raised in 1755. The interred remains of Dutch were moved here in 1853, their gravestones from Dutch cemeteries pave the floor, and coats-of- arms coat the walls.

Day 2: Galle - Unawatuna - Mirissa

Stop At: Jungle Beach, Unawatuna 80600 Sri Lanka
Jungle Beach has long been a well-known secret among southern beach-goers, and is a peaceful alternative to the non-stop energy in Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna on either side of its coast. The discreet nature of Jungle Beach makes it a wonderful spot to read a book, sip on a fresh fruit juice, or simply lounge around on the white sand and enjoy a comforting holiday experience.

Stop At: Japanese Peace Pagoda, Rumassala, Unawatuna 80600 Sri Lanka
Built with the help of Japanese monks, the peace pagoda on Rumasalla Hill is one of three Buddhist stupas in Sri Lanka. Stupas are monuments that serve as beacons of peace for people of all nationalities and creeds, and the clean, rounded design of the Unawatuna pagoda exemplifies this. Visitors can walk or drive the shaded path to the Peace Pagoda and they will be rewarded with a towering, white bell-like structure surrounded by gold-painted statues.

Stop At: Sea Turtle Farm and Hatchery, Matara Road Between posts 128km and 129km, Habaraduwa 80630 Sri Lanka
The Sea Turtle hatchery in Habaraduwa is an amazing place where they take care of wounded turtles take care of baby turtles. The people from the sea turtle hatchery pay close attention to the beach and when they see a turtles nest, they dig up the eggs and take them home. That’s why the name says hatchery. They have an area in their garden with around 1000 eggs at any given time. Many species of the sea turtles in these establishments are endangered, so the projects describe themselves as organisations that have the conservation of these beautiful animals as their number one priority.

Day 3: Mirissa - Tissamaharama

Stop At: Whale Watching Mirissa - Whale Horizon, Harbour Road, Mirissa 81740, Sri Lanka
The sea of Mirissa is the place where you can see whales and dolphins while travelling in Sri Lanka. Many sightings have been reported in November to April in the year. Many pygmy blue whales can be seen at Dondra point in Sri Lanka. You can access it through the Mirissa Harbour or Weligama Harbour.

Stop At: Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara, Tissamaharama Sri Lanka
The Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple in Tissamaharama, Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It was one of the four major Buddhist monasteries established in Sri Lanka, after the arrival of Arhant Mahinda Thera to the country. The site of the Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara was consecrated by Lord Buddha himself, who spent some time in meditation there with 500 Arhats (individuals who have reached enlightenment), during his third visit to the island.

Stop At: Tissa Wewa, Tissamaharama Sri Lanka
The beautiful man-made tank (reservoir) in Tissa, Tissa Wewa with its remarkable bird life provides the scenic backdrop to the town. Tissa was the sanctuary in the deep south, where Sinhalese patriots fled to rally support against marauding Dravidian invaders from Southern India.

Day 4: Tissamaharama - Yala

Stop At: Yala National Park, Sri Lanka
Yala national park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka with the largest leopard population. The park is located in the dry-zone region where the drought season is very long .The day time average temperature is over 30 degrees which is not uncommon in the region. The parkland makes up most of the reserve but also includes lakes, beaches, jungle, rivers and scrubland. This variety in habitats provides an excellent range in wildlife. About 32 species of mammals, 125 species of birds and many reptiles and lagoon fauna species have been recorded in the park. The Yala National Park is famous among visitors as the best place to view large mammals within one territory.

Day 5: Yala - Ella

Stop At: Demodara Nine Arch Bridge, Gotuwala, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
The nine arch bridge has been constructed connecting two peaks between Ella and Demodara railway stations. This massive bridge is built entirely of solid rocks, bricks and cement without using a single piece of steel. The bridge was finally commissioned in 1921. The nine arch bridge is one of the most popular spots in Ella.

Stop At: Ravana Ella Falls, Ella-Wellawaya Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Ravana Falls is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. It currently ranks as one of the dramatically widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and is located 6 km (3.7 mi) away from the local railway station at Ella.

Stop At: Little Adam's Peak, Passara Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
One of Ella’s walking highlights is Little Adams Peak. At 1141 meters high, it’s one of the area’s hugely popular hikes. Most of the path cuts through some spectacular looking tea plantations. Bright green tea leaves from the path edge to all the way in the mountainous distance.The best panoramic views are at the top of Little Adams Peak. You can see across the valley to Ella Rock Ravana Falls and further into Sri Lanka’s gorgeous jungle covered countryside.

Day 6: Ella - Negombo

Stop At: Ella Rock, Ella Main Street NECS-Nature Exploration and Conservation Society Sri Lanka, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Once you reach the top of Ella Rock, you’ll be rewarded with picturesque views of the plains below, including Little Adam’s Peak in the distance. Ella Rock has only one viewpoint and this tends to be where everyone comes to enjoy the scenery.
