Colombo Nocturnal Wildlife Tour

Meet you experienced tour guide at the Villa Ivy Crest around 5.00 PM where you will get a briefing about the tour, discipline to be followed, precautions and safety measures specific to a wildlife tour. Have a tea or coffee and get ready for the tour as the darkness falls. You will first encounter the soft-bodied and relatively defenseless insects who spend the day hidden in cracks or temporarily shelters, only to come out during the twilight time in search of plant based food. You will encounter two types of nocturnal animals, one who become active during the night time to minimize the risk of predation and another to minimize the competition for food. You have a high chance of seeing Rusty Spotted Cat, and Ceylon Jackal. As you go deeper into the night you will find some nocturnal bird species such as bats and owls along with various species of civets. In addition, your guide will get your attention to check for the various snakes such as Cobras and Vipers who start the day in search of food.
