DAY 01: COLOMBO – DAMBULLA –SIGIRIYA
1st Destination Dambulla Cave Temple & Sigiriya the UNESCO Historical Place. Sigiriya is a “World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. After overnight stay in Sigiriya. (Own Expenses)
DAY 02: SIGIRIYA – PIDURANGALA ROCK – WASGAMUWA NATIONAL PARK – COLOMBO
Morning
Your first destination will be a Pidurangala Rock a massive rock formation almost directly opposite Sigiriya; Pidurangala has an equally majestic view as the former of rolling lake-and-land vistas. Short of viewing it through drone footage, the summit of Pidurangala is also the best possible place to get an eyeful the rock fortress itself. After Lunch (Own Expenses) Proceed to Wasgamuwa.
Afternoon
Wasgamuwa National Park was declared in 1984 for Bio-diversity conservation. Wasgamuwa is only 145 (225 km) miles from Colombo via Kandy. The Park comprises of 39,322 hectares. Around 150 – 250 Elephants are found in the Park, Wild Buffalo, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Leopard, Sloth Bear and other animals of the 23 species of Mammals recorded.143 species of birds (8 endemic), 17 species of reptiles (5 endemic), 17 species of Fishes (2 endemic), 50 species of Butterflies (9 endemic) are recorded from Wasgamuwa National Park.
Evening after safari return back to your hotel in Colombo.
