Stop At: Kandy Lake, Centre of Kandy City, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Proceed to Kandy; this lovely city is the erstwhile ‘Hill Capital’ and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned "Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha". One would never miss a visit to the view point, market-place which is a hub of activity along with few handicraft galleries. Kandy retains an aura of grandeur which time has not effaced.
It is time to experience some finest “Ceylon Tea” on your way back.
Sri Lanka is well known for its tea and the humidity, cool temperatures and rainfall of the Central Highlands provide an ideal climate for the production of high-quality tea. It’s just a matter of dropping a tea bag in hot water to make a cuppa, but how is it made? At Geragama Tea Factory which was built in 1903, you could experience it right from the tea gardens until it is made as ‘finest tea’ through that traditional process in factory.
