Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya, one of the oldest temple in Sri Lanka which has a beautiful history dating more than 2500 years, and it is believed that Lord Buddha with 500 Arahats visited Kelaniya Temple on Wesak day. Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya is one of the sacred place for Buddhist and there is a saying,
“The sin of a life time are all rendered null,
Once Kelaniya is worshiped, a single time”
There are Murals, belonging to Kandyan era murals, Modern Murals, modern murals on ceilings etc.. Each Murals depicts a beautiful history of Sri Lanka,
Clients are requested to wear Vatican dress code when entering into temple, Clients are able to Visit all places in Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya, within two Hours and then the clients can exit from temple after 2 hours.
