Mahogany Bay is located in Dixon Cove, a pristine pocket of protected water on the southern shore of Roatan island. Mahogany Bay includes a 20-acre welcome center for tourist to plan their onshore and water excursions. The Mahogany Bay welcome center includes eateries and shopping venues for tourist. Reservation is encouraged as these lift fill up quickly.

The iguana park began with Mr. Sherman hand feeding a handful of green iguanas multiple times per day. From about 1980 to 1994 all expenses incurred came directly out-of-pocket. In 1994 a local cameraman was visiting the park advised Mr. Sherman to put up a donation box to help aid with expenses. This park has now grown in an incredible animal sanctuary that cares for island fauna; iguanas, monkeys, turtles, and even fish.

Ron was our driver, and he was the absolute best! He took us every place that we wanted to go and much more! He made the day so much more enjoyable than we thought possible! We learned so much about the history and culture of Roatan. Our driver/tour guide went above and beyond in all aspects!
We did not want this excursion to end!! Jeff Jones was our tour guide and he was truly one of the very best! We learned a great deal from Jeff and he was very knowledgable about the Island. This was a private tour and there were 6 adults (family) in our group. Jeff was easy to understand and very accommodating. This tour was the highlight of our entire cruise and I would do this excursion again. But make sure if you do this to request Jeff Jones!!!
Viators guide was bit difficult to find at the port. It was to hard to identify, because they did not have uniformed/labeled shirt or car logo to represent company, and not sign or information to direct us where to meet. We were totally confused and scarred because they looks like bad people. They do not provide at least water bottle. Driver was good and nice, but he refuse to stop at places we asked to go like for example Iguana Park Kitchen and Thayana Beach, because weather condition or he do not about places. He drove for horrible and unsafe places with very bad people, that make us scarred. The only good thing, was that he talk to us to make feel confident. Also they charge you additional fee at any places you stop for.
The problems were numerous. No way to contact the driver. Did not provide water. Did not introduce himself. Had to stop and get gas. Spent time on his phone instead of talking to us. Did not offer to take a pic where all the other guides were taking pics of their groups. Missing money when we left van to take our pic. Had to ask for the ac in the car. Would not stop at the places we asked to look at.
We saw it all or at least most. A great day included: Sloth and Monkey park, lizard park, zip line, souvenirs, scenery, beach and lunch of iguana/chicken. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
We spent the entire day in Roatan doing exactly what we wanted.. just the 2 of us... Perfect! Jeff, our driver, was really good. His driving was excellent and he happily answered our endless questions. The van was nice and clean. We highly recommend this tour!
We had an amazing day with our driver, Jeff James. We enjoyed seeing the island, and many roads were really bad. It reminded us of our roads up North after the horrible winters and snow and salt! Jeff took us all over the island, to the sloth farm and other picturesque areas of the island. We went to the Zipline restaurant where my sister and her husband did the zip lining activity. We highly recommend this company and Jeff, too.
