About this activity
Visit: Arena da Baixada, Rua Buenos Aires 1260, Curitiba, State of Parana 80250-070 Brazil

The Athletico Paranaense Stadium, the only one in South America that has a retractable roof, has been built to the standards required by FIFA and has capacity for more than 45 thousand fans. It also stands out for its synthetic grass, which is a differential within Brazilian stadiums.

The visit begins with the presentation of the mockups that show the line of evolution of the stadium throughout its history to the present day.

Then visitors can see the VIP sector, a different place where fans can enjoy watching the games with great comfort and privacy.

Next, the locker room and the press room are shown, areas that only those who make the tour can access.

The visit comes to an end in style: entry into the field, where visitors can have a unique view and feel the sensation of a player stepping on the lawn for the first time.

Club Athletico Paranaense (CAP) was founded in March 26, 1924, from the merger between International FootBall Club and América Futebol Clube. Its traditional colors are black and red. Clube Atlético Paranaense hosts its matches at the Joaquim Américo Guimarães Stadium (also known as Arena da Baixada), reopened in two phases: in 1999 after renovations aimed at its modernization and in 2014, in order to achieve FIFA standard so Curitiba could host the 2014 World Cup. It was the first club of the paranaense soccer to participate of a national competition, the Brazilian Cup of 1959, and to have been finalist of Taça Libertadores, in 2005. The club’s main titles are the 2001 Brazilian Championship and other 24 titles from Paraná State Cup, having played more than 4,200 games in its History. The main local opponent is Coritiba Foot Ball Club, with whom CAP boasts one of the greatest rivalries within Brazilian soccer, the Atletiba. Paraná Clube, whose duel is called Paratico or Derby da Rebouças, is the third main club in the city.
