6-Day Experience in Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu

Day 1: Arrival Cusco

Upon arrival to Cusco, a Peruvian Sunrise representative will be there to collect you and take you to your hotel, just 5 minutes away from the Historic Plaza de Armas.

Day 2: Maras Salt Mines & Circular Terraces of Moray

Today you will experience a half day guided excursion throughout the Sacred Valley. First, you will visit the huge circular agricultural terraces at Moray, built by the Incas in natural sinkholes. They sit on a limestone plateau overlooking the Urubamba Valley. Then you will visit to the salt mines of Maras. At this amazing site, you can see the pansfed by saline spring water that were built on steep terraces along one side of a narrow valley.

Day 3: Pisaq – Ollantaytambo

Let’s not be in a huge rush to get to Machu Picchu! You always have to go through the Sacred Valley to get there. Enjoy the short drive to the incredible Inca ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Your guide will fill in all the details of the history of these two important and impressive as you make your way.

Day 4: Machu Picchu

We take an early train to the town of Aguas Calientes. You will be able to appreciate the amazing views of the raging Urubamba River and the change from Andean Highlands to cloud forest, as we get ever closer to Machu Picchu. From here, we take a bus to the gate of the Citadel of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour in the morning and have free time in the afternoon to explore the sanctuary on you own. In the evening, we take the train to Ollantaytambo/Poroy and private transport back to Cusco where you will stay the night.

Day 5: Walking Tour to Sacsayhuman Ruins, San Blas & Local Market San Pedro

We will explore the amazing city of Cusco, which was the Capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most historical cities in the Americas.

In the morning, you will begin your tour visiting the major ruin above the city of Cusco. The Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, one the most important military and ceremonial centers in Incan times. We will continue our tour walking down trough a short inca path to get San Blas Neighborhood after that we will visit the main square and finally the San Pedro local Market.

Day 6: Depart Cusco

According to the flight time, we will pick you up and get you to the Cusco airport.
