About this activity
Day 1 : Cusco – Tinki
Our
Ausangate Trek adventure will start outside Cusco in our way by bus to Tinki. During the trip to Tinki we will stop time to time to get some pictures specially from the colorful market of Urcos as well as from agriculture village of Cattca where its valley views will captive us. The bus trip will take us 6 hours to complete and before getting to our final destination we will pass by Ocongate which half hour from Tinki village. At our arrival to Tinki we will be getting prepared to set
cour campsite and rest well to carry on our trek of next morning.
Day 2 : Tinki - Pacchanta – Qomerqocha lagoon
After breakfast, we will visit the Tinki public school, to give them some useful gifts. In Pacchanta we stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we continue our hike to Qomercocha , where we will camp and have dinner.
Day 3:
Qomerqocha lagoon – Yanamayo
breakfast is at 7:00 am and continue with the Abra de Q´ampa . Then, we descend towards the Ticllaqocha Lagoons, a beautiful group of little turquoise lagoons where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we reach Yanamayo, where we set our camp overlooking the grand Tres Picos, Colquecruz and Pucapunta peaks.
Day 4 Yanamayo – Condorpaso
After breakfast, we start to climb up towards Yanaqocha or "Black Lagoon".
We will go over Yanaqocha mountain pass to discover an astoundingly beautiful valley with an explosion of colored mountains, three spectacular lagoons and the presence of llamas and alpacas. From this point, an additional hour of hiking leads us to Condorpaso and to our next campsite.
Day 5: Condorpaso - source of Sibinacocha lake:
After breakfast, we continue with the Abra del Condor. From this pass, the highest point of our trek, we will enjoy spectacular views of the Vilcanota mountain range and the Sibinacocha Lagoon, which is our next milestone, and hopefully see vicuñas!
and then will descending the Lake Sibinacocha’s . We will camp next to the lagoon
Day 6 : Source of Sibinacocha lagoon – Ccascara:
we depart early , until we reach the community of Yayamari .
Then, we cross a pampa, where we will likely see hundreds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas.
We will then head towards the Abra Ccascana . Where we will make our last camp.
Day 7 : Ccascara – Phinaya - Cusco
After breakfast, we leave Ccascana and walk for three and a half hours towards Phinaya, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we drive back to Cusco, arriving after nightfall.
Campsites are subject to change according to our guide's criteria and group progress.
