Andean Self Awakening Ceremony through Andean Mystical Plant Medicine

San Pedro, which is known locally as “wachuma,” is another master shamanic healing plant from Andes mountains. The Andean Sierra sees what San Pedro is as what ayahuasca is to the Amazonian jungle: they are the sacred plant medicines of their respective regions. While an ayahuasca experience is strongly moving towards one’s inner self, San Pedro experience is more mild, externalizing you and connecting you with the environment and people around you. San Pedro (Trichocereus pachanoi) is a vertical cactus in a gigantic size. It grows in Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. In the two last countries, it is used in shamanic rituals frequently. It is the cactus with the third highest concentration of mescaline. The plant-based mescaline has been used by shamans in North and South America for millennia. It is considered to be sacred medicine and helps with the expansion of individual consciousness, opening hearts, and spiritual growth.

Healing ceremony itinerary

This outdoor ceremony lasts a full day, starting at 8:15am and finishing around 6:00pm. San Pedro is a purgative, and it is possible that you will vomit. There are visions, which are not constant but come in waves. A Master San Pedro shaman from the Andean Q´ero community guides the ceremony and cleanses your mind, body and spirit. He ensures that you are well throughout and will perform cleansing ceremonies based on any illnesses or problems that he discovers within you.
