About this activity
DAY 01: CUSCO
You will be picked up from your Hotel in Cusco at 7 am in private transport, in the direction of the village of Rodeana, at 3700m. After 4 hours of walking we will arrive at our first camp, at 4210m, where we will have our campsite with an impressive view of the 6,380m high Ausangate mountain. There are thermal waters and alpaca pens nearby.
DAY 02: Upis – Arapa pass – Yana cocha
After breakfast, we will ascend to the first pass called Arapa (4800m / 15748f). From then on, the descent towards Yana cocha and have a picnic. Our route continues ascending towards the Ausangate Extreme pass (4850m / 15912f) and ends at the shore of Lake Ausangate (4650m / 15256f) where we will camp.
Climate: cold 7 hours hiking time
DAY 03: PUCCACOCHA – RODEANA – CUSCO
We left the campsite at 8 in the morning to explore the Pucacochas lagoons. After 3 hours of walking we will return to the camp for lunch. At 3:30 pm we have our transportation back to Cusco. The arrival is around 8 p.m.
