Stop At: Cusco 08007, Peru
We start this tour with the pick-up from your hotel at 8:00 am. Sequenly we will lead to the Inca Museum, located towars the right side of the the Cusco Cathedral, it brings together a vast collection of Keros (carved wooden ceremonial vessels), textiles, mummies and idols of gold and solid silver, as well as weapons, tools and Inca pottery. Our next destiny, Cusco Cathedral is an emblematic feature of Cusco´s main colonial square, which still remains the home to three of the city’s most significant churches: the Cusco Cathedral, Iglesia del Triunfo, and the Iglesia de la Compania de Jesus. Finishing the explanation we’ll move to the Qorikancha, also known as the “Temple of the Sun” (QuriKancha golden temple), built on the orders of Inca Pachacútec (1438 – 1572) and which, when the Spanish arrived, became the base for the convent of Santo Domingo. During the Inca Empire the temple was dedicated to worship of the sun (“Inti”) and was at times filled with gold. In the last part of our tour, our guide and us will head to the
San Pedro traditional and popular market, where our guide will explain us a bit of the history of the place and will let us know the different local products that are sold here, as well as tasting a typical Cusco lunch to finish our tour.
