Lares Trek 3-Night Tour to Machu Picchu

Day 1: Cusco - Lares - Huacawasi (L, D)

Depart from Cusco early in the morning by bus and travel through the Sacred Valley. On the way, you will see towns like Qorao, Taray, Pisaq, Qoya, Lamay and Calca arriving to Lares. You'll spend the morning in the medicinal hot springs, and after lunch have three hours of trekking to the campsite while appreciating the flora and fauna of the place. You will arrive to Huacahuasi (camp) and spend the night.

Day 2: Huacawasi - Epsaycocha (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will continue the trek until Auroraqasa continuing up through the valley. You will observe people who produce some of the finest weavings in Peru. Their great skills and brilliant techniques as they make ponchos and other garments. Passing the village, you'll begin climbing up to Condor Pass, the second pass of the trip at 4,300 meters. From here, you can catch a stunning view of the renowned Mount Veronica (5,750 meters). Descending gently for about one hour, you'll come to the beautiful Epsaycocha Lake, the last campsite.

Day 3: Epsaycocha - Patacancha - Willoq - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)

Today the trail leads downhill to an overlook facing a wide valley. Descending into the valley, you'll eventually arrive at the community of Willoq, where you'll have lunch. Finally you will arrive to Ollantaytambo situated in a fertile river valley and sheltered by mammoth mountains. This ancient Inca village is considered one of the most important living museums in the world. Here the group takes the train to Aguas Calientes to spend the night at a hotel in Aguas Calientes Town.

DAY 4: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu (B)

After early breakfast, you'll take the bus to Machu Picchu. There, you will register and start the 2.5-hour guided visit. After enjoying the ruins, you can explore the site on your own. Then, you’ll get down by bus to Aguas Calientes town where you’ll take the Expedition Class train to Poroy (3:40pm aprox) and then a bus from Poroy to Cusco to then get back to your hotel.
