Private Sacred Valley Outdoor Adventure: Biking, Kayaking and Trekking
1 day
Private
About this activity
Your full-day private triathlon adventure begins in the morning as your guide will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Sacred Valley. You will board a private van and head to Chinchero for the biking portion of your tour. On this beautiful textile town, you will get all the equipment you need before starting the bike ride. Your bike tour is easy and suitable for most people since paths are flat and you will also be taking ‘bike-only’ trails. You will encounter stunning scenery including river valleys, glaciers and breathtaking views, with some occasional ruins along the way.
Bike up to Waypo Lake to start your kayaking adventure. No experience is needed since this is a very smooth and peaceful lake. Relax and explore the lake with your professional kayaks and then enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at the bank of the lake, surrounded by amazing nature. After lunch, jump on your bike again and get off the beaten path to go to Maras, a typical Andean village. Ride through the town's streets and get a feel of being in the time of the Incas since a lot of cultural elements have remained unchanged. See people still wearing traditional clothing and the town's historical buildings including the impressive San Francisco Church.
Next, you will visit the salt terraces of Maras where you can learn about an ancient pre-Incan method of producing salt. After this visit, it is time to start trekking through the Sacred Valley. Accompanied by your guide, you will trek all the way to Urubamba river where your adventure ends and you are transferred back to your hotel on a private vehicle.
